March Artist of the Month
The Dixie Melody Boys
OldTimeChristianRadio is featuring the Dixie Melody Boys from North Carolina as our Artist of the Month for March.
For
the past four and a half decades, Ed O’Neal has led The Dixie Melody Boys
through much success, and in October, 2004, O’Neal was inducted into the
Southern Gospel Music Association’s Hall of Fame. In September, 2000, he was
presented the prestigious Marvin Norcross Award for his outstanding
contributions to his community and the Southern Gospel Music industry. Under
his leadership the group has become one of Southern Gospel Music’s most
loved and respected quartets. Ed grew up in Raleigh, NC, and often sang with
his two brothers and his mother’s family in church. In 1958 he joined the
Serenaders, and two years later he joined the Gospel Harmony Quartet.
Finally, in 1961, he joined The Dixie Melody Boys and later assumed the role
of the quartet’s manager.
Join OldTimeChristianRadio during March as we feature the Dixie Melody Boys, including some songs never before played on OTCR.
