"It's been a great life! For more than half a century now, God had knit our lives together in a ministry, not of our choosing, but of His choosing.
We started singing together in 1949. This was about three years before we were married in 1952. We were destined to be together it seems, for when I was just a little girl, I knew I was going to sing for the Lord. So, when I prayed, I prayed that God would send me someone when I was old enough to marry that would love to sing so that I could sing for the Lord the rest of my life. God heard those prayers and brought us together when we were 17 years old. We've been married now going on 48 years, and just like the song says, 'It gets sweeter as the days go by'.
We have been privileged to sing in many of the largest churches of our day, and some of the smallest. Actually size makes no difference. Our aim and our purpose was to be a blessing and an encouragement to God's people wherever He sent us.
We have been blessed to sing for some of God's choicest servants such as Bro.

managed the Gethsemane Quartet for 44 years. During that time we were privileged
to have people who sang with us down through the years who were God-fearing
people. Most of them still serve the Lord in some kind of music ministry even
today. They are still a very important part of our lives.
Our son. Mark, sang with us from the age of 11 until 5 years ago after he

Now it is just the two of us. We retired from the quartet at the end of 1993, and really didn't plan to do any more traveling. But God had other plans, and we are so thankful that He did. We are having the time of our lives now. It's almost like we are getting to know each other all over again, and at the same time knowing that we are still serving our Lord and Savior with our time and talents.
We are looking forward to many more years of service, Lord willing. All God wants is a willing heart. He is ready and willing to use us if we will just make ourselves available to Him.
If we had our lives to live over...well, we wouldn't change many things. We would just try to do it better for the glory of God."
