Alan McGill was born again in November of 1948, after realizing that salvation depends upon one's faith in Jesus Christ as Saviour, rather than upon his own good works or righteousness. (His wife Jean was saved at age nine and was baptized in a mountain stream).
Alan entered Christian service full time as a layman, almost immediately thereafter, and has been continuously engaged for over 50 years in a ministry of interweaving Scripture, testimony, message (& usually all the cardinal doctrines of the Christian faith) between songs in a UNIQUELY complete Gospel presentation. Rather than entertainment, it is primarily a low-key musical/evangelistic effort, through which many have come to know Christ as Saviour. NEITHER THE VOICE NOR THE MESSAGE HAS CHANGED OVER THE YEARS.
Alan's trained baritone voice has been recorded on Capitol, Word, Sacred, Zondervan, Supreme, and Christian Melody USA labels, and his recordings have been among the best-selling Christian records in all of the English-speaking counties. Many Gospel broadcasters around the world have used them regularly.
Alan's music does not include "rock contemporary", and although spirited in some instances, it would surely be considered conservative.
