The Singing Gravleys originated in the small town of Fries located in Southwest Virginia.  Rev. Alex Gravley, a Pentecostal Holiness Preacher, and his two daughters, Phyllis and Delores, began this group in the 80’s.  After singing for several years and 3 recordings, they decided to quit traveling and singing due to his failing health.

Several years after Mr. Gravley's death, his son, Ronnie, told the girls he was ready to join them and start the group again, much to their delight.  The group consists of Ronnie Gravley, Fries, VA; Phyllis King, Wytheville, VA; and Delores Boone, Galax, VA.  The musicians are Brandon Davis, lead guitar from Independence, VA; Gary Davis, bass from Galax, VA; Robert Mabe, rhythm guitar from Ivanhoe, VA; Ronnie, rhythm guitar; and, Delores, keyboard.

Their first CD, “When The Trumpet Sounds”, was recorded in April 2004 at Eastwood Studio in Cana, VA.  Two of the songs, “When the Trumpet Sounds” and “Don’t Let That Ship Go Down” were written by Ronnie.  This group does most of their singings in VA but has traveled to NC for several singings.  For bookings, you can call 276-236-1847 or 276-233-4706.
